Young Lives Transformed at Soli Deo Gloria Care Centre
This week marked a monumental step for five young individuals who nearly slipped through the cracks of the education system. Thanks to the unwavering support of Swiss4Afrika and the sponsorship of the Embassy of Switzerland in South Africa, these students have embarked on a new journey at Soli Deo Gloria Care Centre’s newly established Multimedia Centre. Fully registered as an Impaq homeschooling centre, this initiative is already proving to be a beacon of hope.
The five students come from diverse and challenging backgrounds. Some had to leave school due to family hardships, while others struggled to fit into the rigid framework of traditional public schools. For these students, returning to education after time away is daunting, but they are rising to the challenge with courage.
In an innovative twist, the programme is entirely digital. With no physical textbooks and very little paper-based assignments, the students are mastering the art of online learning. This approach not only builds their academic capabilities but also equips them with vital digital skills, giving them an undeniable edge as they prepare to enter the modern workforce.
